The Bhimesvara Temple
here has a unique sqhatika (white) lingam and many inscriptions. Bhimeswaami's
Kalyanam is celebrated for five days during January - February every
year.

along the steep slopes of the Papikonda range. Animals found here include
the tiger, leopard, chousingha and wolf. many waterbirds are also to be
seen.
Situated on the left
bank of the Godavari. This town is famous for the 2,743 meter long bridge
by which it is reached. It is an important centre of commerce and communication.
The Jaganmohini -
Kesavaswami Temple here has an exquisite piece of sculpture that is
considered the only one of its kind in India. The five feetall idol has
two ' faces ' - Keshava is seen on one side and Jaganmohini on the other.
Another rare sculpture in this temple is the figure of the river Goddess
Ganga, from which water trickles throughout the day. The annual temple
featival is held in March - April.
