This archaeological
marvel,belonging to the 13th Century Kakatiya period, is nearly 13
meters high. The pillar is erected on a platform.
The
temple built by the Kakatiyas are renouned for their architectural
beauty. Panugal is also famous for its brass vessel industry.
The
dam site here, across the river Dindi, is an idel picnic spot.
A
place of historical importance and an important pilgrim centre, Kolanpak
has a well - maintained Jain temple and many Hindu temples with beautiful
sclupture. The tank bund is an added attraction here.
Situated
on the bank of the river Krishna is this village with an ancient cave
temple known as Lakshmi Narasimha Kshetram. The atmosphere here is
serene and the surrounding are rich in natural beauty.
The
123 meter high Nagarjunasagar Dam has been built across the Krishna
River. This gigantic, multipurpose dam is the tallest masonry dam in
the world.
Situated
8.5 km from world famous Nagarjunakonda, there are the remains here
of the Ikshvaku citadel and of many Buddhist monasteries and halls.
These archaeological finding are preserved in the Government of India's
Archaeological Department Museum here.
Beautiful
paintings, exquisitely carved pillars and several ancient inscription
may be seen in the Kakatiya temple here. This historic village was
the birthplace of the famous Telugu poet Pillalamarri Pina Veerabhadrudu.
The
Dasavathara sclupture in a cave nearPattabhigutta and the five temple
in the town are excellent specimens of Kakatiya art and architecture.
Situated amoung hill range, rachakonda is a place of considerable archaeological
