The ancient sun-god
temple here attracts number of devotees from all over the country. This
famous temple is constructed in such a way that the ray of the sun fall
on the deity's feet twice a year.
Baruva, a fishing and
costal port, is set amidst lush coconut groves and paddy fields.
The costal
bely around kaviti has extensive Plantations of coconut, cashew and
jack. The area is delightfully scenic.
A pilgrim centre, whose
Vishnu temple is architecturally unique. The temple has many inscriptions
that throw light on the various dynasties thatruled the region.
The famous Srimukhalingeshwara
temple is belived to have been built in the 19th Century. The temple has
some remarkably beautiful sculptures in the Indo - Aryan style. |
