Tuticorin Port is situated on the East Cost of India about 540 kms South West of Madras. Located in the Gulf of Mannar with Sri Lanka on the South East and the large land mass of India on the West, Tuticorin Port is well sheltered from the fury of storms and cyclonic winds. It is strategically located very close to the major International sea routes.The minor Port of Tuticorin had a flourishing trade handling a variety of cargoes meant for the neighbouring countries of Sri Lanka, Maldives etc. and the coastal regions of India.Tuticorin is a main Port city of India.The major harbour of Tuticorin is well known as pearl diving and fishing centre.

Tuticorin port is on the south-eastern coast adjoining the Gulf of Mannar in Tuticorin district, about 600 km south of Chennai.It enjoys a unique advantage by its strategic location close to the East -West international sea route,barely 125 nautical miles from it.It is the first Indian port to receive ISO 9002 Certification.Tuticorin Port offers round the clock service.The Port records a throughput of 1,03,000 TEUS per annum with an average growth rate of about 10 % per annum.

  • Climate : Tropical Climate. Tidal Range is about 1 Metre and temperature ranges from maximum of 35° C to a minimum of 20° C.
